Book my free reviewSound familiar?
- Evenings and weekends spent on quotes, invoices, and paperwork
- The phone rings while you're on a job — and the customer calls someone else
- Important information lives in one person's head, or on a whiteboard
- The same numbers get typed into three different spreadsheets
- You know you should follow up with customers, but it never happens
How the free review works
We talk for 30 minutes
By phone, video, or over coffee if you're nearby. Whatever's easiest for you.
I ask how your week actually goes
Where the time goes, what gets missed, what drives you nuts. You don't need to know anything about technology.
You get a short written summary
The two or three changes that would save you the most time, and roughly what each would take. It's yours to keep whether or not we ever work together.
Who you'll be talking to
I'm Marcel Gelinas. By day I manage a team of support technicians at a telecommunications company, and I build the internal tools the whole company runs on: systems that manage over 10,000 devices and tie 16 different pieces of software together.
I've spent years seeing where time gets wasted in a working business, and fixing it. I live in Bluewater, and now I'm offering that to businesses here at home. You deal with me directly, from the first conversation to the finished job.
Common questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No cost, no obligation. If there's something worth fixing and you'd like my help, I'll tell you what it would cost. If there isn't, I'll tell you that too.
- What does it cost if I do want help afterward?
- It depends on the fix. Small changes to tools you already use are often a few hundred dollars. A bigger job that takes a chore off your plate for good is usually CA$3,000–8,000. Every idea in your summary comes with a rough price, and nothing starts without a fixed quote you've agreed to.
- I'm not a computer person. Is this for me?
- Especially for you. My job is to make things simpler, not to add another app you have to learn. A lot of the time the answer is a small change to tools you already use.
- Are you going to push me to buy something?
- No. The review is about understanding your business. Most small fixes are modest in cost, and plenty of owners just take the summary and run with it themselves.
- What kinds of businesses do you work with?
- Trades and contractors, farms and agribusiness, manufacturers and shops, seasonal and tourism businesses, and service businesses — anywhere in Huron County or along the Lakeshore: Exeter, Grand Bend, Goderich, Bayfield, Lucan, Zurich, Hensall, Clinton and the concessions in between. Anyone whose week is eaten up by admin.
- Is this the same as the "Free Operations Review" on the rest of the site?
- Yes — same conversation, same free review: we talk, I listen, you get a short summary.
